Welcome to PrepareForLater.com where we present many ideas on how to get yourself and your family prepared for
your future, whatever it may bring.
Do the headlines you see these days scare you? They tell of calamities all over the world. There are stories of
natural and man-made disasters that disrupt people’s lives by forcing them from their homes or perhaps only from
their comfort zones. Maybe it was something as unforeseen as an extended illness, losing your job or being
removed from your home.
Many people get frustrated or even depressed over the thought of a future that is different from what they
wanted. Often there is nothing they can do to prevent such occurrences.
If all you did was read the headlines and hope that all of the bad things in life will pass you by, you just
might be in for a real shock when something happens to you or your family. How well you survive such an event may
well depend on what you do now.
You will not be forced to get ready for the future. Some people prefer to sit back and let the government take
care of them. Then, if something bad happens to them, they blame others. However, you
are in charge of yourself and the best way to not just survive tomorrow, but to actually look
forward to the future is to PREPARE. There is a certain degree of
calmness and confidence that permeates the lives of those who are prepared.
We are here to tell you that there are so many things that you can do to today to make it
easier to cope with the disasters of tomorrow. This is called Preparation.
Preparation can be:
- Difficult
- Confusing
- Time-consuming
- Frustrating.
Or, Preparation can be:
- Easy
- Organized
- Gradual
- Very rewarding.
If you want the latter, read on.
During the education days of your life you were probably taught to Prepare as you were encouraged to read your
textbooks, attend classes, take notes, complete your assignments and study for & take exams. Then the big day
would come, when you would receive a grade. Often your grade was a direct reflection of the amount of effort you
put into Preparation. Oh, there were probably times when you slid by in a class without too much effort. But any
significant accomplishments in education have always taken Preparation, even ongoing Preparation.
So, if Preparation worked for you to get your education, why would you stop being Prepared once classes are
over? After all, the course called Life-101 lasts a lot longer than Chemistry, History or Algebra. Some of those
classes provided a way for you to repeat the class to get credit for it or, perhaps, just to raise your grade. But,
more than likely, you will only get to take Life-101 once.
Imagine sleeping better at night knowing that you are prepared, to a certain degree, for many disasters. Nobody
is ever 100% prepared for anything, let alone
everything. So don’t give up because it seems overwhelming.
Remember, even the Great Pyramids were built one stone at a time.
Consider a scale of 1 to 100 where the lower the number, the less prepared you are. Pick your spot on that scale
and then see what you can do to move to a higher number. Remember, this is all about life and very likely, doing
nothing today may cause you to move down the scale tomorrow.
There are numerous topics that you can learn about to help in this preparation. This new website,
PrepareForLater.com, is made for you. It can help you learn things
that you can do today to provide for a more secure future. We do not have all the answers for all of the calamities
in the world. However, we do have answers to what you can do to make the most of your future, if you will do it.
After all, if you do not prepare, do you plan to wait for some government agency to come to your aid in a
timely manner? Good luck on that one!
Much of what we teach here will apply to preparing for disasters and emergencies that might happen in your life.
However, there are many things that we teach that may help your family in "normal" life as well.
For this website, we have divided all the ideas we have into several different categories (as shown in the left
column of each page) and many sub-categories. To browse a category, just click on the link on the left of any
